Little Annie, a bichon poodle mix, fell on hard times after her mom declined and had to move into nursing care. Her family couldn’t care for Annie, so she came into foster care at Hospice Pet Advocates.
At her vet visit, we learned she had a malignant tumor and may only have a few months to live herself. Though a happy and pain free pup, would anyone want to adopt her with a cancer diagnosis?
Annie’s very own angel, Lauren, swooped to her rescue. Lauren feels called to rescue older small dogs and give them a wonderful life, and she recently lost an elderly chihuahua that she had rescued off the street. Lauren heard Annie’s story, and she and her pug Wallace came to Eugene from Portland to meet her and adopted Annie on the spot! Lauren renamed the little poodle mix Angie, short for Angela.
Angie’s now enjoying walks with her housemate Wallace and was even treated to a coconut oil massage. She’s now eating homemade food and loving all the attention she is getting. Angie is thriving in Lauren’s loving care, and we wish this new family many blessings and wags. Angels indeed!
